Menasor - Fansproject

This has got to be one of the most complicated transformer I have to date. The difficulty level for Diesel aka Motormaster on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 100... This is in part due to the poorly drawn (or lack of) instructions and the multitude of connectors which are suppose to snap in place but won't or have difficulty coming off due to its well thought but poorly executed design. A fine example are the shoulder connectors  in Combine mode where they used a keyhole type connector. Once connected I had difficulty removing the joint, its like trying to open a full drawer where a book is wrongly angled and jamming the drawer.

On the plus side, the individual figures really stand out, especially in robot mode.  Each are highly articulate and can support a multitude of poses. Diesel is a really fun figure to play with. You can have him in his basic robot form or power  up mode to bring the rain and pain on the Autobots.

On a whole, a lot of thought was put into the design of the joints and connectors. Each joint is tight and sturdy, able to support the weight of each connected part. The feet has got rubber strips for more grip when posing it on slippery surfaces like glass. I guarantee it would not do a leg split like an Olympic gymnast unlike a certain Aerialbot combiner.. Uranos.. Cough cough..

I feel it's about the right size and price. Frankly I'd highly recommend getting anything from Fansproject for their quality (it's still in one piece despite all my violent tugging and pulling) and design.

Smart Robin (Brainstorm) - Fansproject

Another "Masterpiece" version of the Headmasters Brainstorm. This one's by Fansproject and as usual the quality is fantastic. This figure is roughly the size of a Deluxe class figure. Due to its design, the flexibility on the shoulders and hips is limited. Also there's no wrist movement of any sort which kinda annoys me. Other than that, it's a really nice piece.

At first it kinda bugged me that he didn't come with his faceplate but after reading the IDW comics I realised <spoilers ahead> he does have a mouth and his faceplate hid a shocking secret. I'm still reeling from the shock. As the story is still playing out I'm just hoping it was all a joke. To know what I'm talking about, go read the Dawn of the Autobots series.

Henkei Nemesis Prime with Flight Pack

The flight pack is from an SD(super deformed) version of Nemesis Prime which can be used on any Henkei Prime figure. It just looks way better on Nemesis than Optimus.

Chaos/Paladin - Maketoys

I just love combiners and this is no exception. The main body can transform into a hovertank-carrying-sword thingy and the limbs can be removed to form a mobile missile launcher. And together they combine to form Chaos Paladin(?) as shown in the pics.

Nova Prime - Maketoys Hyper Novae

Joints are tight! Some are too tight for comfort. But overall a really nice representation of Nova Prime. He eventually absorbs the Heart of Darkness and turns into Nemesis Prime...

Mobine MB01-SP1 Jungle Type - Maketoys

Shown here with Heavythread powercore combiner.

Weirdwolf - Fansproject Quadruple U

Weirdwolf

Superion - TFC Uranos

The reason I did not show them in it's combined mode is that the combined mode really disappointed me. Individually the bots look great but combined? I feel like I've wasted 500 bucks. Search the forums and you'll notice one glaring problem, there's a problem with his legs. The hips are on ratchet joints and aren't tight enough for him to stand properly. He's prone to doing leg splits if placed on a smooth surface like a glass table top. Also, the ratchet joints cause the legs to split either too narrow or too wide an angle which just makes the combined form look like he's tilted to one side when standing and that really sucks since he doesn't come cheap. TFC really screwed up and practically made me lose faith in them after this debacle. The Warbotron series really looks promising but its size, scale and pricing would probably put me off them. I'd rather stick to companies with a more consistent track record in my book.

Autobot Whirl (HFTD Tomahawk with Headrobots Drone upgrade)

Tomahawk with Drone upgrade turns him into Wreckers Whirl. He comes from the same mold as Generations Springer and DoTM Vortex.
